Poetic plots and the aspects of their up filming; an attempt for an article, by Anna Polibina-Polansky

Previous postures bore, rather, anouncing character.

I consider my task and my aim at cinema, at depicting vivid history, spiritual streams of the Middle East and further Orient where I happened to be born; filming up religious views and the lifelines of spiritual institutions (temples, monasteries, hermitages). Epochs differ stylisticly, spiritually, outwardly. I delve into the plots (of various scales) that define former epochs. Arabian ethnic lines are often unifying for recent epochs; they may comprise regular dynasties and systems of genres and conceptions. It is commonly known that Medieval Arabian genres are insurpassable and refined (poetry, philosophy, medicine, astronomy, algebra, etc.). Our epoch thoroughly correlates with the past and with former metaphors, plots, characters. God as the most idealistic, utmost protagonist is key for many spiritual and historic regiments, conceptions, systems. Humanitarians as scientists and artists at once, are summoned to link up those genres of knowledge. So I elaborated a separate screen genre, to render the needs of humanity branches. I have been practicing that genre, for over twenty years, so far. It reflects my systemized universal viewing and my artistic tactics. My featuring stratagems develop my subjects and plots at cinema. Syncretic offerings of those themes allow me, as a filmmaker, to cover various respects and dimensions of spiritual fabulas and to supply those thematic panoramas with my very own angle of viewing. I invented a definite scale of genres, to render my stylistic perceptions. I feel very much familiar with poetess Akhmatova who spoke of the "verbal imagination" concerning the question of novelty of her poetic stanzas... By Anna Polibina-Polansky, 2024.

My films frequently touch upon historic panoramas, precise and known, well-shaped with the time and enjoying recognizability in ages. Medieval monasteries, ancient layers of faith, canonic religious texts, imaginary realms, estates of spirit (in various meanings). I enjoy stralls over epochs; perhaps that is why my basic poetic cycle at the emigrational Russian environment is named after this metaphor: its title is, "Up Scooped Epochs". The silver age of poetry, or, Slavonic symbolism, trode a majestic generation of bright authors, stylistic manners, allegories, genres. Poetry is dwelling within us, no matter how verbal. Sxreen plots absorb poetic magnetism. By Anna Polibina-Polansky, 2024.
