British director Nadia Fall has received the Fritz Gerlich Prize at the Munich Film Festival.
The award went to her drama "Brides." The film tells the story of young Muslim women who travel from Great Britain to Turkey. From there, they plan to travel to Syria to join the terrorist group Islamic State. The jury praised the film, saying it serves as a reminder that young people must be warned and protected from dangerous manipulation. The prize commemorates the Catholic publicist and Nazi resistance leader Fritz Gerlich. He was murdered in the Dachau concentration camp in 1934.
