Global Entertainment Awards and Women In Cloud Partner to
Empower Women in Entertainment

The Global Entertainment Awards (GEA) and Women In Cloud (WIC) today announced an innovative partnership aimed at fostering collaboration between the technology and entertainment industries, with a specific focus on empowering women in both sectors.
The partnership will take a two-pronged approach to achieve its goals: firstly, by empowering marketing and distribution creatives with access to AI tools from Women In Cloud via the Global Entertainment Awards AMD Emerging Talent Award.
The AMD Emerging Talent Award, a global initiative established by the Global Entertainment Awards to empower new creatives by providing a platform to showcase their work and gain recognition from industry professionals, will be further enhanced by this partnership.
Women In Cloud will provide an AI Creative Toolkit to AMD Emerging Talent winners to empower them to safely and ethically harness AI tools in their content creation.
Women are significantly underrepresented in AI, gaming, and film, holding only 26% of AI jobs globally and even fewer roles in cloud (15%) and data (12%) sectors (according to Revolent Group). This partnership will prioritise recognising and celebrating the creative brilliance of female talent within the entertainment industry.
JoJo Dye, Director of Communications & Events, Global Entertainment Awards: "This partnership signifies a pivotal moment for the Global Entertainment Awards with Women In Cloud. By empowering women with some of the tools and resources they need to succeed, we are encouraging inclusivity and also culturally expanding the voices and conversations informing entertainment content creativity."
The second prong of their approach is, Women In Cloud will establish a strategic Film Fund to invest in compelling global content created by female filmmakers and creatives. This initiative aims to address the significant gender gap in the entertainment industry, where only 30% of the top 100 highest-grossing films in 2023 featured women in lead or co-star roles, down from 44% in 2022 (according to the World Economic Forum). The Strategic Film Fund aims to support films and games from women directors, producers, and creators.
Chaitra Vedullapalli, President, Women In Cloud: "By uniting technology, entertainment and media, this strategic partnership is about bringing communities together while celebrating creative brilliance. Through AI-powered tools, strategic investments like the Film Fund, and global recognition for entertainment marketing innovation, we're building a thriving ecosystem where talent thrives, stories resonate, and industries transform."
Now in its fourth year, the Global Entertainment Awards continues to grow, attracting a record number of entries worldwide. This year’s ceremony, celebrating the art of selling the story, will be held in Algave, Portugal.
The awards recognise the crucial role of marketing and promotion across Cinema, Games, Streaming, and Television in inspiring audiences to engage with entertainment. Attended by industry leaders and judged by esteemed professionals, The Global Entertainment Awards celebrates excellence, innovation, and cultural impact in entertainment marketing worldwide.
Entries are now open for The Global Entertainment Awards 2025. For more information about the awards, visit: https://theglobalentertainmentawards.com/
