Universal Studios Mega Movie Summer

Just in time for the 50th anniversary of the release of  JAWS and for the worldwide success of the new ‘Jurassic World: Rebirth’, Universal Studios  Hollywood (https://www.universalstudioshollywood.com/web/en/us  ) has launched a terrific summer promotion:  until August 10th and to celebrate the summer, Universal Studios Hollywood is having a mega deal: “Buy a Day ticket and get a second day for FREE!”. Such a treat for such an amazing park! 

We have been visiting Universal Studios Hollywood as a family for the last 15 years, and we are not about to stop that tradition. Twice a year, during the summer and just before Christmas, this is our “happy escapade” ritual. Universal Studios Hollywood has it all; from the fantastic splashy experience like ‘Jurassic World: the ride’ to the scary like crap ‘Revenge of The Mummy: the ride.’ But it also features the laid-back, legendary ‘Backlot tour’, which offers a behind-the-scenes look at some of Universal's legendary pictures like ‘War of the Worlds’, ‘Nope’, and more.  This year, my kids decided to put on their swimsuits and enjoy the ‘Super Silly Fun Land’ mini water park area. They had a blast jumping all around and getting soaking wet! Then we had to have lunch at our favorite place at Universal Studios: ‘The Toadstool café,’ located in the recently opened Super Mario land. They offer a delicious variety of burgers, and my favorite was the chef’ special:  the roasted chicken with crispy cheese potatoes, yummy! This gave us plenty of energy to keep going and enjoy the smooth, enchanting ‘The Life of the Pets’ ride and the extravaganza real 3D screening of a special made for the Studios: ‘Kung Fu Panda Adventure’ mini movie. Of course, an afternoon cannot be perfect if you don’t take a break at the French café in the European district while enjoying a giant Oreo cookie donut bought at The Simpsons shop (while there, and before eating, enjoy The Simpsons ride, a must-visit!). To end the day and enjoy the California sunset, it’s a tradition for us to have “fish and chips” at The Three Broomsticks restaurant in ‘The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.’ But you could also indulge in a family dinner plate including chicken, turkey, veggies, and more. Let your belly speak for itself!  Haha!

Finally, there is nothing more magical than taking your two final rides with ‘Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey’ as well as ‘Flight of the Hippogriff’. Each ride will transport you to the magical world of the iconic Harry Potter, and you will not want to leave Universal Studios Hollywood when it closes its doors!
