Funko at San Diego Comic Con 2025 Alive and kicking

Funko has always known how to be Alive and Kicking, indeed! Proof is again this year's splendid success, with sold-out lines to acquire some of the most memorable Funko products. We were lucky to be given a press tour and to experience the amazing impact and passion that Funko creates with its loyal fans.

Some of the many exclusives Funk fans were after were the ‘Bitty Pop!: Marvel – Fantastic Four 4pk’. Just in time with the huge successful release of the new Marvel superheroes, Funko had a brilliant idea to offer such a “marvel-ous” exclusive for the public attending SDCC. Talking of Marvel, you were lucky if you could get the ‘Pop! H.E.R.B.I.E Fantastic Four’ collectible! And of course, it came with a 2025 summer convention sticker on the box to make it even more valuable.  Some other amazing Pop! exclusive were the

Heroes: Batman -Azreal’ in such a blinding red color, and the ‘Heroes: Batman 2010’ with its stunning blueprint deco. Only 2,010 were made, and you bet it, it was another sold-out item for Funko at SDCC! One of my favorite Pop! exclusive was the ‘Premium: SpongeBob – cleaning’. Looking at our favorite under-the-sea creature made me weak, and I had to get one of those to be part of our 500+ collectible montage, above our fireplace (not working!) in our living room.

Another mesmerizing line is the one, mostly loved by women, called ‘Loungefly’. This year, and again in celebration of the Fantastic Four, a limited-edition Fantastic Four uniform backpack was available, complete with its special pin. Also, in a limited edition of 1200, Funko put out an SDCC Limited Edition Hello Kitty & Friends color block terry cloth mini backpack. I saw a legion of fans buying it, and I bet it was sold out by the second day of the convention.

There was another Funko exclusive with the ‘MONDO’ line-up! There was, for example, “The Bad Guys 2: Goodlife 7” vinyl. Or. Again, the ‘Better Call Saul’ vinyl! What a delight. One of my favorite recordings was the one done in partnership with Laika for the iconic movie, Coraline. Composer Bruno Coulais is a true master at capturing the dark, child-like world of Coraline. Play it loud, please.

Let’s not forget about the original approach by Funko with its ‘Funko Pop! Yourself’. This year, they partnered with Entertainment Weekly to support the MPTF (https://mptf.com ) to offer temporary financial assistance to members of the entertainment community. The Funko team created personalized Funko Pop! Yourself collectibles in the likeness of celebrities and talent visiting the EW/Funko suite during Comic Con. These figures were autographed for an online auction for fans in Fall 2025.

As you can read, the Funko! universe has again re-invented itself and has grown into a full firework of great new products and generous endeavors.

We can’t wait to see what is coming next for Funko! and its team of passionate and dedicated employees. For sure we will see you in 2026 at the next San Diego Comic Convention.
