From 14 November, the 24th edition of Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event – the largest gathering for audiovisual professionals in Northern Europe – kicks off in Tallinn and online. Over eight days, the event will host around 200 lectures, workshops, masterclasses, and market meetings, bringing together a vibrant community of film and drama series professionals.
According to Marge Liiske, Head of Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event, this year’s programme explores some of the most pressing questions shaping today’s screen industries. “What are the new frontiers of serialized storytelling? How do we finance content in an era of rising costs and shrinking public support? What role does private investment play in creative freedom? How can sustainability become an integral part of every production stage?”
With nearly 200 sessions – including about 70 open-access panels and workshops – the programme offers insight, inspiration, and tools for building a sustainable, inclusive, and forward-looking film industry. It also fosters cross-generational collaboration, encouraging mentorship, the exchange of expertise, and the nurturing of emerging professionals and talents who will shape the future of cinema. A selection of the open events are also accessible online.
Expanding the Drama Series Focus
In its 24th edition, Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event further expands its drama series platform, TV Beats, by introducing two new sections: Serial Bridges Baltics, organized in collaboration with Series Mania, and Coming Soon from the Baltics. Altogether, the TV Beats programme features 31 drama series projects at various stages of development, complemented by a range of engaging discussions on the most current topics shaping the landscape.
The third edition of Just Film Industry Days turns the spotlight on the children’s and youth film sector, focusing on the production and distribution, coverage in film magazines and trades and the importance of film education. A selection of children and youth film projects will be presented at Baltic Event Co-Production Market and Just Film Works in Progress.
Over the eight days, Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event hosts various presentations, panel discussions and case studies tackling the most relevant topics in the audiovisual industry. The programme includes two case studies from Oscar-winner “Flow”; panel “Breaking the Buzz” explores how international trade magazines shape a film’s visibility and credibility in today’s crowded festival circuit and much more. The AI sessions explore practical tools already transforming production and reflect on the kind of future we want to build.
This year, the summit joins forces with the Technopol Film and Multimedia Accelerator, introducing four forward-thinking teams developing digital tools that automate production workflows, connect artists and rightsholders, teach creative professionals financial literacy, and streamline crew coordination across borders.
Focus on Catalonia
In 2025 Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event highlights the film industry of this year's Focus: Catalonia, presented in collaboration with the Ramon Llull Institute and ICEC - Catalan Institute for Cultural Companies. The programme features seven distinctive projects and welcomes around 30 filmmakers and industry professionals to the festival and its industry stand, highlighting the strong, coulourful and vibrant Catalan film production.
The Catalan presence also includes panel discussions exploring co-production opportunities, a matchmaking session by Catalan Films connecting international guests with Catalan producers – from established companies to emerging voices– and a roundtable focused on market strategies and talent development.
Meanwhile, the Spotlight Austria programme celebrates cinematic craftsmanship and creative identity, featuring 15 festival films, an insightful presentation of the Austrian funding landscape, a new Co-Production Market project, and a Masterclass by acclaimed director Jessica Hausner.
Since 2022, Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event has stood firmly with Ukraine and continues that commitment this year. Six Ukrainian projects are featured across the Co-Production Market, Works in Progress, and Market Screenings.
