In this edition, the year in which the 50th anniversary of 25 April is celebrated, the thematic focus is Revolutions.
We therefore present 3 special programmes that we hope will create new dialogues: "Enfim, o Amor", curated by Janaína Oliveira, "Uma Revolução Íntima - de Monstros e Mulheres no Cinema Indígena", curated by Maria Luna-Rassa and "Mulheres de Câmara na Mão, Cinema e Revolução", curated by Luísa Sequeira and Rita Capucho.

This year's programme features 122 films in competition from 38 countries, 11 world premieres, 7 international premieres, 2 European premieres, 61 national premieres and 21 films showing for the first time in Porto.
These are figures that make the team proud, allowing us to say that Porto Femme occupies a particular and special place in the programme geographies of film festivals, positioning itself as a privileged venue for the presentation of new narratives.
The 122 films are divided into five competitions: International, National, Student, XX Element and Thematic, the latter dedicated to Women and Revolutions.

As in previous editions, we are honouring women filmmakers, celebrating Margarida Cardoso in this edition with a special session in which we pay tribute to her career and life, thus giving her the recognition she deserves.
|
In the usual training space, we have the workshop "An Introduction to the Art of Pitching", organised by trainer Hemi Fortes, in partnership with MUTIM - Association of Women Moving Image Workers. We also have the workshop "Deconstructing stereotypes - cinema as a language for transformation" with CineDelas trainers Raquel Pacheco, Nay Araújo, Mariana Bento Lopes and Sheila Correia.
|
The exhibition space continues to occupy a prominent place in the festival. In partnership with Galerias Mira, we have organized the "Margins" photographic exhibition for this 7th edition, with a selection of 50 photographs and the projection of more than 50, chosen from hundreds of images that have been received to approach the subject from different perspectives.
|
And it wouldn't be Porto Femme if there weren't several moments for debate and conversation around topics such as abortion, women and revolutions, and black and indigenous cinema, once again organized in partnership with the FEMglocal research project.
|
Finally, thanks to the team, filmmakers, artists and partners who build this festival! Let's be the revolution we want to see, banners in the air and voices tuned to make ourselves heard. Watchful eyes and open hearts!
Join us for the revolution and a lot of cinema
